The Eastern Dialogues - I: First Webinar organised by the North Eastern Subcommittee

The Eastern Dialogues was the dream project of our Hony. President Dr Ratish Chandra Paul and our Hony. Secretary Dr Debashis Das. The North Eastern Sub- committee with Dr Rajesh Majumdar Chowdhury as chairperson of the committee was formed to this end. The sole purpose of the subcommittee is to reach out to our fraternity from the North Eastern states and provide a platform to talk about the work they are doing, to participate and thus interact at the OSWB Conferences and to provide any mentoring which may not be available in the remote corners of the North East.

The first webinar under this committee, The Eastern Dialogues-I, was held on 4th November 2023. Chairpersons were Dr Abhijit Ghosh and Dr Pushpita Sahu. The Panellists included Dr Maitreyee Das, Dr Abhijit Chatterjee, Dr Kushal Choudhuri and Dr Anindya Kishore Majumdar. The webinar was moderated by Dr Siddhartha Ghosh and Dr Doel Biswas. The Speakers were Dr Wakaru Shullai from Meghalaya, Dr David Khiangte from Mizoram, Dr Techi Dodam Tara from Arunachal Pradesh, Dr Sandip Sarkar from Tripura, Dr Ronel Saibom from Manipur. A wide range of topics from different subspecialities were presented and a healthy interactive discussion ensured. It was a highly successful webinar and we are hopeful of many more such webinars in the future.
