Since the creation of the CANVAS group by Ophthalmological Society of West Bengal, we were trying hard to arrange a painting workshop for the members. Success came when, ultimately, we could hold on to Susrut Eye Foundation, Salt Lake, on 21st July, Sunday from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm. Mr Kunal Burman, the famous artist of Ananda Bazar Patrika group, graced the occasion and taught us various aspects of watercolour painting. At the beginning, the paintings of the participating members were displayed by Dr Nilay Kumar Majumdar and it was followed by a 'draw as you like' session where each participant was supplied with a complete water-colour kit and asked to draw whatever they liked. Everyone took part with great enthusiasm and did some wonderful paintings. In the next session, Mr Burman himself demonstrated his skill in two water-colour paintings, which were a great learning experience for all of us. Around thirty participants took part in this workshop. I am looking forward to holding more such workshops in the future. Total 29 persons attendance in this workshop.
