Diabetic Retinopathy Eye Screening Program Organized by Community Ophthalmology Sub-committee of Ophthalmological Society of West Bengal

A Diabetic Retinopathy screening camp was organized which was ably coordinated by Dr Soumyadeep Hazra and Dr Soumya Ghosh Kundu. About 15 patients were examined, out of which two showed Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy and another two had early changes. Untreated Diabetes is common in this part and this program is aimed at creating awareness. Dr Debashis Das, Hony. Secretary, and other distinguished members of the Society were present throughout the program along with the faculties of different departments of Jagannath Gupta Institute Medical Sciences and Hospital and made this program a successful one. The final year UG students of the college also attended it.
