President OSWB

Dear Members,

It is my privilege to welcome you to the official website of the Ophthalmological Society of West Bengal (OSWB), a vibrant professional body representing nearly 2000 ophthalmologists across the state and beyond. OSWB has a proud legacy of academic excellence, ethical practice, and dedicated service to the community, and this platform reflects our commitment to connectivity, transparency, and continuous learning.

In an era of rapidly evolving ophthalmic science and technology, our Society strives to keep its members updated through high-quality scientific meetings, conferences, continuing medical education programs, and skill-enhancement workshops. At the same time, we remain deeply committed to community eye care, outreach activities, and public awareness programs aimed at preventing avoidable blindness and visual impairment.

This website is designed to be an interactive hub for our members—providing timely information on academic events, society activities, guidelines, and opportunities for professional growth. I encourage all members, especially our younger colleagues, to actively participate in Society initiatives and contribute their ideas and energy to strengthen OSWB further.

Together, let us uphold the highest standards of clinical excellence, research, and compassion, and work collectively towards improving eye care services for the people of West Bengal.
